WHAT IS AN OIL FILTER CUTTER?
You can use a special tool called an “oil filter cutter” to cut the filter open and visually inspect the filter media. The Summit Racing oil filter cutter is made of powder-coated, billet aluminum. It works like a giant-sized tubing cutter and is able to cut filters of up to 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
